Sibling Arts Studios

The "Rock House" where our Grandma Caroline and her youngest Aunt Lindy were born in 1910 and 1913 is located in the heart of some of the richest farm land in Iowa. It is still there today. It was originally built in 1850, and later purchased by Grandma & Aunt Lindy's Grandfather. It was the birthplace of their mother, Edna, and her two sisters. Aunt Lindy lived nearly her entire life in the family home until 1991.  It was an adventure for my sisters and I to visit: the water was pumped in the kitchen sink. There were always primroses across the window sills and an old wood stove. Card games were a favorite evening pastime and there was an ancient player piano in the front room.  Just around the corner was the room where two generations were born in our family. Up the stairs, the attic housed a lot of "old things" that as kids we were not allowed to get into (we did snoop just a little).

As children, the sisters at Sibling Arts Studios engaged in imaginative play for hours with the paper dolls from their Aunt Lindy’s extensive collection. Drawing on their many beloved memories, they share some favorite doll designs and play accessories with us on fabric. Sewing enthusiasts are now able to create their own timeless treasures and doll collectors around the world are sure be delighted with these adorable scenarios.

With the enormous appeal of paper dolls, this collection is sure to provide a lifetime of enjoyment!
